‘The Church Flower Rota’ has been synonymous with Cora Simmons for 50 Years!
For as long as her present team can remember Cora has organised, cajoled and chivvied us, and we, and the Church, owe her a huge debt of gratitude!
Cora made our flower arranging duties very straightforward; reminding us of our dates, providing the flowers and preparing the ‘mechanics’ for all the normal weekly Church Services, countless Weddings and the major Festivals of Easter, Christmas and Harvest, for which so many more arrangements are required.
She has been tireless, loyal and very hardworking; as flowers and their impedimenta are heavy!! And we shall all miss her enthusiasm and energy.
We would all like to thank Cora for the generosity of time, encouragement and guidance. We wish her a peaceful ‘retirement’, and hope she will continue to monitor our efforts as we try to honour the legacy of her shining example in 50 years of service to St Nicholas and the community.
