The ivy on the table tombs and on the perimeter wall in the churchyard was beginning to win!
That was such a good morning on Saturday 10th February! And what is more everyone driving by on the A32 can see our achievements in that the brick wall is now clear of ivy and looking good along the side of the road!
We had such wonderful support for the morning’s work that we were able to tackle all the ivy on table tombs as well, in readiness for a consultative visit regarding what we now do about their conservation.
It was pouring with rain at getting up time that morning but, amazingly the sun came out and shone on us while we worked and then it rained again as we left! Thank you all so very much for coming and proving the maxim of ‘many hands make light work’!
