The children, parents and staff of Wickham Primary School had an exciting week in January sailing the High Seas whilst learning about Maths in a fun way.

The week was kick started by Barry Philips, (Hampshire Maths Team Advisor) who met with parents to give hints and tips about how they can help their children with Maths at home.

The rest of the week was taken up with “Pirate” activities, ranging from making a life size pirate ship out of 3D shapes, making jewel biscuits with the correct number of jewels, treasure hunts and orienteering and lots of maths investigations and challenges.

Pirate Week ended with us all dressing up as pirates and coming together to share and celebrate all the work we had done
