St Nicholas 900

Remembering the past

Celebrating the present

Looking to the future

‘St Nicholas Church, Wickham, celebrates its 900th anniversary in 2020. Sited at what’s now the junction of the A32 and Southwick Road, it’s been the church at
the crossroads since 1120, serving the local community, pilgrims and visitors from further afield. St Nicholas Church has always been a place where people have come in search of meaning and purpose in their lives.

During 2020 there’ll be a year-long programme of special events, put together on your behalf by the St Nicholas’ 900 planning team and local community
groups, and made possible by the generous support of Wickham Parish Council and individual sponsors.

There’s a community recipe book, the Song for Wickham (specially commissioned from local musician Steve Knightley), displays in church featuring
highlights of Wickham life past and present, concerts to suit every musical taste from jazz to classical, lectures, drama, everyone’s favourite church fete and much, much more.’

Revd Jane Isaac, Rector of Wickham

Many of the events and activities will be free of charge, and ticket costs will be kept as low as possible.
See the parish magazine or the St Nicholas Church website for up-to-date news, a full list of the events on offer, and booking details.

There’s still time to get involved! If you have ideas to share or are interested in sponsoring an event during 2020, please contact the St Nicholas 900 planning team via email:
